DEPART THE UNITED STATES
Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic. Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start your vacation.
Tues, Jun 2
HEAD WEST FOR A HOOLEY
After landing at Dublin Airport, complete customs and immigration formalities. At 9am, join your group in the Arrivals Hall before meeting your CIE Tours driver/guide and boarding your luxury motorcoach. Next, travel to the center of Ireland to visit Clonmacnoise. This monastic settlement was founded in 545 and is delightfully set on the banks of the River Shannon. Learn about the history of the site and take a walk around to see the ancient monuments. Then, drive into Athlone and stop at Sean’s Bar, Ireland’s oldest Pub, to enjoy a drink with your fellow travelers. Continue your journey into Galway and join a local guide for a gentle walking tour of the city.
See the medieval city walls, Lynch’s Castle and the narrow streets. Motor a short distance to your hotel, check in and settle into your room. In the evening, meet your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner in the hotel restaurant.
After dinner, head to a local venue for a night of Irish entertainment at the Trad on the Prom Show, which features the best of Irish music, song and dance.

THE ISLES OF ARAN
Today, set off on a short ferry ride from Rossaveal to Inis Mor, the largest of the three Aran Islands. These rocky islands are renowned for the hardy islanders who maintained traditional fishing and farming. The Irish language is still spoken widely. Next, take a minibus ride to Dun Aengus, a huge pre-historic fortress perched on sheer cliffs, which fall away to the Atlantic Ocean below. Have a look around Kilronan before heading back to your hotel in Galway. This evening, you might like to dine in one of the city’s lively dinner venues.

ON TO CONNEMARA!
Leaving Galway, travel through the Connemara Region to admire the sweeping views of boglands and misty mountains. As you drive along you will see many sheep that graze freely and tracts of bogland where some people hand-cut peat for home heating. Stop to visit Kylemore Abbey for a tour of the elegant mansion and church, set beside a tranquil lake. Learn of the tales of tragedy, romance and royal visits. Also, walk through the magical Victorian walled garden. Then, drive into Westport and embark on a walking tour of one of the few planned towns in Ireland, which was created by James Wyatt in 1780. Among the most picturesque features of the town is the promenade (the Mall) and the little stone bridges along the River Carrow Beg. Transfer to your nearby hotel, check in and settle into your room. Tonight, meet your group in the hotel restaurant for a delicious meal.

THE PIRATE QUEEN OF ACHILL
After breakfast, set off around Clew Bay, through Newport and along Curraun Peninsula to reach Achill Island, joined to the mainland by a bridge. Follow the Atlantic Drive to capture wonderful and wild scenic views of steeply sloped mountains plunging into the shimmering Atlantic Ocean. Next, head to the Beehive Craft and Coffee Shop to enjoy a delightful lunch with your group. Return to your hotel in Westport for a free evening.

UNDER BEN BULBEN
Today, travel to visit Atlantic Sheepdogs, where you will have the opportunity to experience farm life and see some of the world’s smartest sheepdogs, working in their natural environment. Following, drive into Belleek and stop to visit the Belleek Pottery Factory to see how skilled craftspeople form and decorate clay to produce delicate porcelain masterpieces. Continue your journey into Donegal, check into your hotel and enjoy some free time before dining with your group in the hotel restaurant.

BELEEK FINERY, THE BEST OF GIN & A NIGHT IN A CASTLE,
This morning, travel to visit Slieve League Sea Cliffs, where the highest point reaches 1,972 feet making them the highest in Europe. The cliffs drop straight down to the wild Atlantic waves below and you will see marvelous vistas. While here, have a cup of tea and freshly baked scones with your group. Then, journey into Ardara to see demonstrations of spinning, weaving and knitting at Triona Designs. Head back to your hotel in Donegal, where the remainder of the day is free for individual pursuits and dining.

FERMANAGH TO DUBLIN
Departing Donegal, drive into Enniskillen to tour Enniskillen Castle, which was built almost 600 years ago by the ruling Gaelic Maguires. Overlooking the River Erne, the castle guards one of the few passes into Ulster and has been strategically important throughout its history. Then, travel to visit the famous Devenish Island Monastic Site, which includes the best-preserved round tower in Ireland, many ruins, ancient graveyards and high crosses. Continue your journey through the Irish countryside into Dublin, check into your hotel and settle into your room. You might like to relax or freshen up before this evening’s festivities.
Tonight, join the festivities at the Irish House Party, which not only offers great food but also traditional Irish entertainment in an intimate setting.

THE SIGHTS OF DUBLIN
After breakfast, set off with a local guide who will show you around Dublin. The city has been molded through the centuries by economic, political and artistic influences that has shaped its architecture. Stop to visit Dublin Castle, which was the seat of power and government for many centuries. See the State Apartments, where many state functions are held in the richly decorated chambers. Then, continue on to tour Guinness Storehouse to see exhibits on how this world-famous stout was first created and why it is so popular today. Finish your visit in the roof-top bar, where you can sample a draft of Guinness. Return to your nearby hotel and spend the balance of the day free for independent sightseeing, shopping, dining and more.

All too soon, your vacation has come to an end. Transfer to Dublin Airport in plenty of time to check in for your flight. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying back to the USA.
