Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic. Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start your vacation.


Mon, Oct 5

SOUTH TO WEXFORD

After landing at Dublin Airport, complete customs and immigration formalities. At 9am, join your group in the Arrivals Hall before meeting your CIE Tours driver/guide and boarding your luxury motorcoach. Next, stop to have breakfast with your group at Newbridge Silverware, which has been designing and producing quality jewellery, homeware and giftware products for over 80 years. Then, journey into Wexford to meet Michael in his home town and with him, a local guide for a gentle walking tour to see the winding, narrow streets and the town walls. Also, view the famous bull ring, Selskar Abbey and even the Theater Royal. Motor a short distance to your hotel, check in and settle into your room. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome VIP private performance by Michael & friends then dinner in the hotel restaurant.

CRYSTAL CLEAR

Leaving Wexford, travel through Ireland’s rolling hills into Waterford and stop to tour the House of Waterford Crystal. While here, learn about glass blowing, cutting and see one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Next, drive into Dungarvan to enjoy a drink with your group at Marine Bar along with traditional music. Following, journey into Cork and embark on a guided walking tour of the city. See Shandon Church, a famous Cork landmark dating from 1722 and Crawford Art Gallery. Also, view Paul Street, known for its trendy restaurants and shops of all types. Transfer to your nearby hotel, check in and enjoy some free time before dining in the hotel restaurant with your group.

A LOT OF BLARNEY

This morning, drive into Blarney, where you can climb the battlements of Blarney Castle and kiss the famous “Stone of Eloquence.” Then, visit the Blarney Woollen Mills, which has an excellent range of Irish products. You will also have time to browse around the village, charmingly set around a large village green. Continue your journey into Killarney and set off on a horse-drawn jaunting car ride through the grounds of the Killarney National Park. Motor a short distance to your hotel, check in and settle into your room. This evening, meet your group in the hotel restaurant for a delicious meal.

A DAY ON DINGLE

Today, discover the beauties of the Dingle Peninsula, once described by the National Geographic Traveler as “the most beautiful place on earth.” Drive along the south shore of the peninsula for plenty of vistas of heathery mountains, sandy stretches of beach, stunning green landscapes and rocky headlands. Pause at strategic locations to admire the views and take photos. Continue on to Slea Head at the western tip of the peninsula. This excursion will give you excellent views of mountains and coastline and looking over to the Iveragh Peninsula. Then, travel into Dingle town and stop to enjoy some free time to explore the area on your own. Dingle is an area situated below Slievanea Mountain and faces comfortably onto the sheltered harbor. As a market town and fishing port, Dingle has long been well supplied with pubs and opportunities to hear traditional Irish music. Head back to your hotel in Killarney and spend the remainder of the day free to sightsee, shop and dine on your own.

CLIMB THE CLIFFS

Departing Killarney, travel into Tarbert and take a short ferry ride across the River Shannon Estuary. Next, drive along the coast of scenic County Clare to visit the Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland’s most beloved, natural landmarks. See magical vistas, overlooking the shimmering Atlantic Ocean along with Ireland’s Western coastline. Continue your journey into Galway and join a local guide for a gentle walking tour of the city. See the medieval city walls, Lynch’s Castle and the narrow streets. Transfer to your nearby hotel, check in and settle into your room. Tonight, have dinner with your group in the hotel restaurant.

A DROP OF THE PURE

This morning, travel to the center of Ireland to visit Clonmacnoise. This monastic settlement was founded in 545 and is delightfully set on the banks of the River Shannon. Learn about the history of the site and take a walk around to see the ancient monuments. Continue your drive into Kilbeggan and stop to visit the Kilbeggan Distillery, which was established in 1757 and is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in the world. While here, enjoy a tour and tasting of the finished product. Continue your journey through the Irish countryside into Dublin, check into your hotel and settle into your room. You might like to relax or freshen up before a festive evening with your group. In the evening, join the festivities at the Irish House Party, which not only offers great food but also traditional Irish entertainment in an intimate setting.

A DAY IN DUBLIN

Today, set off with a local guide who will show you around Dublin. The city has been molded through the centuries by economic, political and artistic influences that has shaped its architecture. Stop to visit Trinity College to see the Book of Kells, an 8th century illuminated manuscript of the gospels and the Old Library. Then, continue on to tour St. Patrick's Cathedral, which is almost as old as the city itself and famous for its connections with the brilliantly eccentric Dean Jonathan Swift. Return to your nearby hotel and enjoy the balance of the day at leisure for individual sightseeing, shopping, dining, pubs and much more.

This evening, join the festivities at the Irish House Party, which not only offers great food but also traditional Irish entertainment in an intimate setting.

THE SIGHTS OF DUBLIN

Spend the day completely at leisure in Dublin, where you can choose from a wide variety of pursuits. Use your Hop on Hop off pass to visit several places so you can get better acquainted with the city. There are also plenty of museums of Irish interest such as the National Museum, the National Gallery or the Writers Museum. You may also want to shop along Nassau Street, the pedestrianized Grafton Street or Henry Street. In the evening, you may like to dine in one of the many restaurants or pubs that Dublin has to offer. (No coaching or guide services included today)


Sat, Oct 3

All too soon, your vacation has come to an end. Transfer to Dublin Airport in plenty of time to check in for your flight. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying back to the USA.
