Tour Itinerary
Day One · May 23: Depart the United States
Depart Ames on an overnight flight across the Atlantic. If you need help booking flights, just ask. We can point you to the best routes and fares.
Day Two · May 24 : Dublin Arrival, Wexford and VIP Concert
Arrive in Dublin, clear customs, meet your driver, and enjoy breakfast at the incredible Powerscourt Estate. Wander the gardens deemed 3rd best on the world by National Geographic. Head south to Wexford and Michael’s hometown. Settle in, then gather for a private concert hosted by Michael with his favorite local traditional musicians. Learn about Irish instruments, songs, and local musical culture. Gather for dinner in Reeds restaurant.
Day Three · May 25: Hook Lighthouse and Johnstown Castle
Visit the Hook Lighthouse, one of the oldest working lighthouses in the world. Continue to the stately Johnstown Castle and its gardens, a truly magical place where Michael spent a lot of his childhood. Return to your hotel, enjoy the leisure center and gather for dinner that evening.
Day Four · May 26: Crystal Clear & a Walk in Cork
Drive to Waterford to the home of Crystal. See up close the creation of the glass known the world over. On to Cork, for a walking tour of the iconic city. Check in to your hotel, the River Lee which is one of Michael’s favorites.
Day Five · May 27: Blarney & Killarney
Travel out the road to Blarney to see not only the famous stone that offers the gift of the gab but also the stunning gardens of the estate. Shop and lunch at Blarney Woolen Mills before heading to Killarney for a ride on a jaunting car through the national park ending at the stronghold of Ross Castle. Check in to the Killarney Plaza and enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers.
Day Six · May 28: Dalliance in Dingle
Drive to the spectacular Dingle Peninsula to witness the raw beauty of Kerry with many sights from Michael’s show like Dunquin Harbour, Slea Head, Inch Beach and end the day in Dingle town. Try the fish & chips and perhaps some of the gorgeous locally made ice cream, Murphys.
Day Seven · May 29: Walk the Cliffs & the Streets of Galway
North by ferry across the Shannon Estuary to view the Cliffs of Moher and further up to Galway to meet Brian Nolan, the famous guide of Galway, for a walking tour of this vibrant ciy. Check in to the Galmont Hotel, in the heart of town so a stroll to the fun pubs after dinner, is a must.
Day Eight · May 30: A Connemara Love Story
Drive through the wilds of Connemara. Stop for a leisurely cruise on the Killary Fjord out to the Atlantic and on to hear the romantic story of Kylemore Abbey.
Day Nine · May 31: Whiskey & Highjinks!!!
Head east towards Dublin, stopping in County Westmeath to enjoy the oldest licensed distiller in Ireland, Kilbeggan which will surely put you in the mood for the Irish House party in Dublin. What a way to spend your last night in Ireland, with jigs & reels. Tonight we stay at the stately Davenport in the heart of the city.
Day Ten · June 1 : Return Home or Extend Your Stay
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the US, or stay on in Dublin for a few more days to explore on your own. You know you’ll want to.
