September 23: Depart the United States
Depart your hometown on an overnight flight to Ireland. Relax with in-flight meals and entertainment as your journey begins.
September 24: The Mountains of Mourne
Upon arrival at Dublin Airport, meet your driver/guide and board your comfortable motorcoach. Your first stop is a visit to Long Meadow Cider for a tour, tasting, and a traditional griddle cooking class with a soda bread demonstration. Afterward, travel through the breathtaking Mourne Mountains, Northern Ireland's tallest and most dramatic peaks, dotted with rugged granite outcrops. Then it's on to Belfast, where you'll check into your hotel and unwind. In the evening, enjoy a warm welcome dinner with Michael at the hotel to kick off your Irish adventure.
September 25: Belfast & Beyond
Embark on a guided tour of Belfast to see the Albert Memorial, the Opera House and Crown Liquor Saloon. You might also view Linen Hall Library, Belfast waterfront and the imposing City Hall, which was completed in 1906. Then visit Northern Ireland's only royal residence, Hillsborough Castle! You can tour the castle, which features elegant staterooms still in use by the royal family. Or you can stroll through the 100 acres of gardens for some peace and tranquility.
September 26: Antrim Coast and a wee drop
Leave Belfast and enjoy a scenic coastal drive through the stunning Glens of Antrim, with sweeping views of valleys and sea. Stop at the Giant’s Causeway to see its famous hexagonal rock formations, then explore the dramatic clifftop ruins of Dunluce Castle.
Continue to Bushmills Distillery, Ireland’s oldest, for a tour and whiskey tasting. End the day in Derry with some free time before heading to the Walled City Brewery for local craft beer and a delicious Irish dinner.
September 27: Legend - Derry
This morning, join a local guide for a walking tour of Derry to explore the Guildhall, St. Columb's Cathedral, the Diamond, and the 16th-century city walls. Along the way, you will also see the large-scale murals scattered around the city, which local artists created to protest political policies. Return to your nearby hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure to sightsee, shop, and dine on your own. We can recommend the best pubs!!!
September 28: Donegal Coast
After breakfast, head out to see the stunning Slieve League Cliffs, some of the highest in Europe, rising nearly 2,000 feet above the crashing Atlantic below. Soak in the breathtaking views, then enjoy a warm cup of tea and fresh-baked scones in this unforgettable setting.
Then, journey through the rugged beauty of Donegal to Glencolmcille Folk Park, where you'll step back in time among traditional Irish cottages and get a glimpse of rural life as it once was. Settle into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening with a delicious dinner.
September 29: Castles and Shopping
Today, visit Donegal Castle, which incorporates the gabled tower of a 15th-century house built by the O'Donnell family. Partially restored, the castle reflects a long and turbulent history. Then, visit the nearby Hanna Hats, world-famous for its tweed hats, woven wool, and other fine apparel. Return to your hotel and spend the remainder of the day free to explore the busy shopping town on your own. Tonight, you might like to dine in one of the many restaurants or pubs scattered around the area.
September 30: Pottery, Gin and a Castle Stay
Leave Donegal behind as you make your way to Belleek, where you'll visit the renowned Belleek Pottery Factory and watch skilled artisans turn clay into delicate porcelain pieces. Next, head to The Shed Distillery, home of Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin, for a fun and flavorful tour with a tasting at the end.
Later, arrive at the luxurious Kilronan Castle Hotel in Ballyfarnon. Take the afternoon to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings before sitting down to a delicious dinner in the castle's elegant restaurant.ite.
October 1: Dublin at Leisure
Travel to Dublin and enjoy a free day to explore museums, shops, and restaurants. The stately Davenport is right in the heart of the best shopping and next door to the Trinity College or the National Gallery.
Tue, Jun 2: Return Home
Transfer to Dublin Airport for your return flight to the United States.
